Southampton will attempt to stand in Liverpool’s way for a place in the EFL Cup final.
Jurgen Klopp’s side booked their place in the last four of the competition a 2-0 win over Leeds United and will now face the Saints over two games in January.
The first leg is set to take place at St Mary’s on the week commencing January 9, 2017 while the return will follow at Anfield on the week beginning January 23.
Should Liverpool repeat last season’s exploits in the EFL Cup, they will face either Manchester United or Hull City, who were drawn in the other semi-final, at Wembley on February 26.
