Mario Balotelli has claimed his relationship with Brendan Rodgers was ‘a disaster’ as he took fresh aim at Liverpool.
Balotelli was signed by the current Celtic manager in 2014 during his time in charge at Anfield but only scored four times in 28 outings for the Reds.
He spent the following season on loan at former club AC Milan before failing to impress Jurgen Klopp, who allowed him to join Nice permanently in August.
But despite enjoying a prolific start to life in Ligue 1, with seven goals in nine outings, Balotelli has regularly spoken out about his frustration with life on Merseyside.
The former Italy international, 26, spoke glowingly when asked about of his former coaches but had little fondness for either Rodgers or Klopp.
“For me, the one most on the ball remains (Roberto) Mancini – fantastic, I owe him so much,” Balotelli told Gazzetta dello Sport.
“In second place I put (Lucien) Favre (of Nice) with (Jose) Mourinho. The Portuguese is talented and motivated, it is a pity that we had a falling out.
“The worst? Not Klopp, I am not angry with him. If he has created a certain situation at Liverpool, maybe he should have had more patience with me.
“In truth, I had the biggest disappointment with Rodgers. I enjoyed myself with him in training but our relationship was a disaster.”
