Mac Allister’s Liverpool exit claims addressed

Alexis Mac Allister’s father has refuted claims that he is seeking a move to Real Madrid.

The Liverpool midfielder continues to be linked with a move to the Bernabeu, where he would reunite with ex-teammates Trent Alexander-Arnold and Ibrahima Konate.

Reports also claimed that Mac Allister told his Argentina cohorts following their World Cup final defeat to Spain that he had played his game for the Anfield club.

It was further alleged the Reds would be willing to accept a fee in the region of £85 million to allow the 27-year-old to depart before the final two years of his contract.

However Mac Allister’s father Carlos has shot down suggestions that his son is pushing to leave Andoni Iraola’s side

“We have not spoken to any Real Madrid official,” he told 365Scores.

“What is being circulated about us holding talks with Real Madrid is not true.

“Alexis is still on a two-season contract with Liverpool.

“Currently, he’ll get some rest for a few days and then go back to playing in the Premier League, that’s the current situation.”

Mac Allister and fellow World Cup finalist Victor Munoz are expected to report back for pre-season duty in mid-August ahead of the new Premier League season’s start.
