Liverpool fitness coach Ruben Peeter has confirmed his departure from the club.

Peeters was a key figure in Arne Slot’s backroom staff at Anfield, having previously worked under him at Feyenoord, and part of the Premier League title-winning side.

But the 34-year-old is among a number of coaching members brought in by Slot to leave in the wake of the head coach’s surprise sacking on Saturday afternoon.

Assistants Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Sipke Hulshoff are also departing as the Reds prepare to hold talks with the Dutchman’s likely replacement Andoni Iraola.

“After two unforgettable seasons at Liverpool FC, it is time to say goodbye,” Peeters wrote on LinkedIn.

“Winning the Premier League together will always be a special memory and the ultimate highlight of this incredible journey.

“But above all, I’m grateful for two years of going to work every day with so much enthusiasm, surrounded by amazing colleagues and great people.

“Thank you to everyone at Liverpool FC for the trust, support, and unforgettable moments.”
