Alisson has been named in Liverpool’s Champions League squad to face Girona.
The goalkeeper’s inclusion marks his first involvement since suffering a hamstring injury at Crystal Palace in October that sidelined him for the next two months.
But Alisson could make his comeback for Arne Slot’s side in their latest European outing after included in their 19-man squad that flew out to Catalonia on Monday.
“He is fit,” confirmed Slot.
“It speaks for itself if you can play with Alisson, who has been so outstanding for this club and Brazil so it is nice to have him back.
“If you look at his replacement, it is not easy to do it even better but Caoimh did so well so we can say we have two great goalkeepers who can do the job for us.
“But for so many years Alisson has been so good, so we are expecting that.”
However the Reds have left Diogo Jota on Merseyside, despite taking part in a pre-match session at the AXA Training Centre, as he steps up his injury recovery.
Alexis Mac Allister was also grounded due to incurring a one-match suspension after picking up three bookings in his previous Champions League appearances.
