The Hammers’ trip to Anfield in last season’s quarter-final stage saw them suffer a 5-1 hammering with Curtis Jones scoring a brace for the Reds.
It also marked a record attendance at the stadium for a League Cup tie, beating the previous record set for Tottenham’s visit in October 2016.
Owing to Liverpool’s involvement in the upcoming Champions League group stage, the tie is set to be played on the week commencing September 23.
