Liverpool Women will be playing in a new stadium from next season.
Matt Beard’s side have struck a 10-year agreement with rugby league club St Helens to host the majority of home fixtures at the Totally Wicked Stadium.
The WSL outfit also announced that they have further intentions to play a number of their in-season games at Anfield alongside the new arrangement.
It was revealed that the Reds’ players, staff, fans and wider Supporters Board were consulted on the move, which arose from Prenton Park’s lease expiring.
Friday’s news marks a fresh step in the evolution of the women’s side, who took up residence at the first team’s former Melwood base earlier this season.
“This is the exciting next chapter on our journey, and I’m absolutely delighted with this investment from the club,” said Beard.
“At the heart of this move are the two most important groups at the club: the players and the fans.
“The players will have a wonderful new pitch and facilities to enjoy, while the matchday experience for the supporters will be so much improved.
“We’ve built up a loyal following at Prenton Park and we look forward to welcoming them to St Helens along with hopefully opening up the women’s game to many new supporters as well.”
