Liverpool have unveiled their new home kit for the 2024/25 season.
Inspiration for Nike’s latest strip comes from the 1984 treble-winning season, which culminated in a European Cup penalty triumph against hosts Roma.
The design features a chrome yellow pattern in the acronym of club anthem You’ll Never Walk Alone alongside a collar that pays homage to the ’84 kit.
On the reverse of the jersey, the 97-emblem encased by the eternal flames sits proudly at the nape of the neck in memory of those children, women and men who were unlawfully killed as a result of the Hillsborough disaster.
It is expected that the shirt will debut on the pitch during Jurgen Klopp’s final game in charge against Wolves in Anfield’s Premier League finale on May 19.
The Reds’ forthcoming kit follows the theme to the current campaign, which commemorates the 1974 FA Cup win with white crew-neck collar and cuffs.
Virgil van Dijk said: “I’m a big fan of our new kit for next season and love the fact we’re bringing the retro vibe back.
“We are a club built on history and the 1984 team was one of our most successful ever.
“I’m sure our fans will appreciate the nod to those club legends.”
The new kit is available to pre-order from today (May 2) on LFC’s official online store, in official LFC stores and the LFC Retail App for delivery from launch day May 16.
