Liverpool are sweating on the extent of Dominik Szoboszlai’s injury.
Szoboszlai was withdrawn midway through the second half of Monday’s eventual 4-2 victory against Newcastle in favour of Ryan Gravenberch.
But the Hungary international headed straight down the tunnel after suffering a suspected hamstring injury which is set to be assessed in the coming days.
Jurgen Klopp admitted post-match that the Reds face an anxious wait to see whether Szoboszlai will be available for Sunday’s FA Cup clash with Arsenal.
He said: “We wanted to take him off, that was the plan.
“But unfortunately it was somehow a minute late because in the last situation he felt the hamstring.
“Now we don’t know the extent of it, obviously, so we have to wait.”
