Liverpool suffer major double injury blow

Liverpool will be without Alisson and Diogo Jota for the foreseeable future.

The pair picked up injuries during last weekend’s draw against Manchester City which is now set to rule them out of action for several weeks at least.

Alisson sustained a hamstring issue at the Etihad Stadium while Jota picked up a similar problem in the stalemate with the Premier League champions.

And while Jurgen Klopp confirmed on Wednesday that the Reds’ no.1’s prognosis is better than first feared, both players are facing spells out.

He said: “Both are out.

“With Ali it’s a bit lesser, so we have to see – not day by day.

“He will not play tomorrow, not on Sunday [against Fulham], probably not the week after. Then it should be kind of okay.

“Diogo will take a little bit longer, we don’t know exactly how long, but it’s a bit more severe. We have to see.”
