Mohamed Salah has been crowned the Premier League’s Player of the Month for October.

Salah saw off competition from five of his top-flight peers for the award including Tottenham’s Cristiano Romero and Arsneal midfielder Declan Rice.

The Egypt international enjoyed a stellar month with five goals in the league as Jurgen Klopp’s side went unbeaten with two wins and a draw in October.

He scored five times for the Reds in the Merseyside derby win over Everton, a brace against Brighton and rounded off the month against Nottingham Forest.

This latest accolade elevates Salah to the joint third-most successful winner of the Player of the Month alongside Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie.

He is now just one away from equalling Anfield icon Steven Gerrard’s haul of six and two behind the all-time feat of seven held by Harry Kane and Sergio Aguero.

Friday also saw Salah named Liverpool’s Player of the Month for October while he was also shortlisted for the PFA Fans’ Player of the Month honour.
