A potential deal for the Hungary international previously appeared unlikely amid conflicting claims that his release clause at RB Leipzig was set to expire on Friday.
But the Reds are continuing to explore the viability of signing Szoboszlai and are understood to have held tentative discussions with the player’s representatives.
Klopp’s side are already in negotiations with Leipzig over a deal to see young forward Fabio Carvalho joining the Bundesliga outfit on a season-long loan.
The two clubs have continued to enjoy a good relationship on account of past transfers which saw Naby Keita and Ibrahima Konate both move to Anfield.
