Sadio Mane is set to leave Liverpool after they agreed a fee with Bayern Munich.
Mane informed the Anfield hierarchy of his desire to end a six-year stay on Merseyside following last month’s Champions League final loss to Real Madrid.
Bayern’s initial valuation of the Senegal international saw the Reds rejecting successive bids which failed to match their asking price in the region of £40M.
However a breakthrough on Friday saw the Bundesliga champions pledge to pay an initial £28M for Mane with an extra £7M in potential future add-ons.
The 30-year-old has one year left on his existing deal with Jurgen Klopp’s side, who have already recruited Benfica’s Darwin Nunez as his replacement.
Hasan Salihamidzic, Bayern’s sporting director, confirmed the impending transfer on Friday, telling Sky Germany: “Yes, Sadio is coming to Bayern.”
Mane leaves Merseyside having won every major trophy available and played a starring role with a combined 120 goals and 38 assists in 269 appearances.
Liverpool, meanwhile, have announced plans for two pre-season friendlies against Bayern’s Bundesliga counterparts RB Leipzig and RC Strasbourg.
The Champions League finalists will travel to the Red Bull Arena on July 21 before welcoming Ligue 1 outfit Strasbourg to Anfield just 10 days later.
