Matija Nastasic believes that outgoing Schalke team mate Joel Matip will bring ‘everything’ to Liverpool’s defence.
Matip will become the first signing of the summer transfer window after agreeing to join the Reds on a free transfer when his current deal with the Bundesliga outfit expires at the end of this season.
The 24-year-old offered a taste of his attacking qualities with an assist during Schalke’s 3-1 win over Hannover yesterday.
And ex-Manchester City defender Nastasic, speaking exclusively to Click Liverpool, says that the versatile 24-year-old will be deliver a full package of attributes when he joins the defensive ranks at Anfield.
He said: “I think it’s a great and big step for him.
“I’m really sure that he will bring big quality to Liverpool’s squad because I saw him every day training and every game.
“He’s a great player and a great person and I’m really sure he’ll have a great time in Liverpool and they will be much stronger the defence with Joel.
“He will bring everything; aggression, agility, everything. Also with the ball, he has very good technique.
“They’ll be much stronger with him.”
