Mohamed Salah has been crowned the Premier League’s Player of the Season.
Salah beat off competition from Tottenham’s Harry Kane, Manchester United stopper David de Gea, Burnley defender James Tarkowksi and Manchester City duo Kevin de Bruyne and Raheem Sterling for the personal accolade.
The Liverpool forward received the award ahead of his side’s final league game of the season against Brighton in recognition of his goal-scoring exploits.
To date Salah has found the target 31 times in 35 domestic outings and has already been named the PFA and FWA Player of the Year.
He was also crowned the Reds’ player of the season earlier this week.
“I’m very happy, it’s an honour to win this award,” said Salah.
“It was always in my mind to come back to the Premier League to show the people that say I didn’t succeed here the first time.”
The Egyptian also paid tribute to manager Jurgen Klopp for his latest honour.
He added: “Before everything, we are friends, I like him a lot.
“He has helped me a lot to do what I’m doing now, on the field and off it, I have to thank him for everything he has done this year.
“But [there are] still two games, we have to think about that.
“I really, really respect him a lot and I’m sure we are going to do something special for the club this year.”
