Roberto Firmino insists Liverpool are not seeking revenge against Tottenham.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side will travel to Anfield on Sunday, just four months after they comprehensively humbled their hosts in October’s corresponding fixture.
That 4-1 defeat at Wembley saw the Reds produce a defensive horror show with Dejan Lovren substituted by Jurgen Klopp midway through the first half.
Although the Anfield faithful want to see that hammering avenged, Firmino insists it is not the key motivation for he and his teammates in this game.
He said: We lost that game in October against them and we all played very badly, the whole team.
“We deserved to lose that day. The next game is another game; there is no vengeance or additional rivalry because of that last game.
“They are a big team and we will do our best to try and beat them.
“To us, this game is a classic. In Brazil, we call this type of game a ‘six-point game’.
“We will try to be focused during the 90 minutes to try and achieve the win. That’s our aim.”
