Klopp: Liverpool must accept West Brom frustration

Jurgen Klopp says Liverpool must accept their stalemate with West Bromwich Albion.

The Reds were left frustrated for a second straight game as they failed to convert a plethora of chances into goals.

As with the Merseyside derby, Liverpool dominated possession as their opponents opted to sit deep and try to frustrate.

Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino all had chances to open the scoring, while Dominic Solanke saw a late winner ruled out for handball.

That left both Anfield and Klopp frustrated, but the Liverpool manager he and his team will have to accept the result regardless.

“The first half for me looked a little bit stiff,” he said.

“The timing of the movements was not like it should have been, the passing was not that good, a little bit too late and we were not quick enough.

“It was often a static formation, they had their formation and for us it was difficult. Even in that half, we had three or four not too big chances.

“The second half was better, we changed the system a few times, tried to bring them more trouble. We had good crosses and chances, scored a goal, which was disallowed.

“Obviously it was not a night for three, four or five nil. If you don’t score early then that was clear.

“We were ready to work hard for one moment but it didn’t’ happen. We now have to accept that if you don’t score in football, you always have to accept the result. That’s what we do now.

“It was not a game for twenty chances but we had seven or eight and we all know the boys usually score so I was not happy with it but I accept it. That’s it; we didn’t score so it’s 0-0.”
