Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster helped England’s Under-17 side to World Cup glory.
Brewster had stolen the headlines in the Young Lions’ run to the final with the Reds prodigy netting hat-tricks in their quarter final and semi final victories.
Former Anfield youth coach Steve Cooper allowed the teenager to again lead the line for his country during Saturday’s showpiece with Spain in Kolkata.
Although England fell behind within the first half-hour, it was Brewster’s header from a Steven Sessegnon cross just before half time which sparked a fightback.
The goal also ensured that the 17-year-old finished as the tournament’s top scorer, with eight goals in six games.
Morgan Gibbs-White, Marc Guehi and a brace from Phil Foden completed England’s comeback and an unprecedented year for the country’s youth sides.
Liverpool duo Dominic Solanke and Sheyi Ojo were part of the Lions’ team which won the U20s World Cup while the U19s won the European Championships.
