Jurgen Klopp has vowed to stand by Dejan Lovren and Simon Mignolet.
The pair were chief among the culprits as a severely under-performing Liverpool side succumbed to a 4-1 hammering by Tottenham last weekend.
Lovren’s fault for Spurs’ first two goals culminated in him being substituted midway through the first half of the Wembley reversal.
Mignolet, meanwhile, also found himself in the firing line from both Reds fans and media pundits for his own failings as the Londoners ran riot.
Despite numerous blunders, both have retained the support of Klopp this season and the Liverpool manager reaffirmed that commitment to the duo.
“That’s the world out there, if we find somebody who has made a mistake then we go on them,” he told BBC Sport.
“But when we make a mistake ourselves we don’t want anybody to know about it.
“I would never let them down, but it’s not my job. I hope they were smart enough not to read it (the criticism).
“It’s very important, I’m 50 and I’m clear in my mind so I don’t read it because it makes no sense for me to read somebody saying I have no clue about football.
“It’s not right but on the other hand it doesn’t help so why bother reading it?
“For the boys it would be good for them to do the same. On the other side, it’s not the biggest problem in the world that we made mistakes in that game.
“If people then say ‘yes you made a mistake’ then we already knew that. Its only about reaction.
“If you don’t react well then you have to change the situation and that’s what we have to do.”
