Liverpool have parted with Andy Renshaw as part of their latest staff shake-up.
Renshaw had been working with the Reds’ academy since 2009 before being promoted to Head of Physiotherapy following Chris Morgan’s departure.
Jurgen Klopp’s appointment two years ago saw a number of senior medical figures leave Anfield, including fitness and conditioning coach Ryland Morgans.
The Liverpool manager drafted in a number of Bundesliga-based replacements, with Andreas Kornmeyer arriving from Bayern Munich to replace Morgans.
Christopher Rohrbeck also joined the club at the beginning of this summer in a physio role from Mainz, where he had spent the previous 14 years.
But the decision to dismiss Renshaw a week before their clash with Manchester United has left Liverpool needing to recruit another senior backroom role.
Injuries have been few and far between for Klopp’s side this season, with only Adam Lallana and Nathaniel Clyne registering as long-term absentees.
