Jurgen Klopp is ‘disappointed’ and ‘frustrated’ by Liverpool’s draw at Newcastle.
The Reds slumped to a fifth win-less game of their opening seven Premier League matches at St James Park, despite Philippe Coutinho’s wonder strike.
A fatal defensive mistake by Joel Matip allowed the Magpies to draw level in the first half while the visitors failed to build on their early spells of dominance.
But Klopp instead it was merely bad luck which cost his side maximum points.
He said: “I am disappointed, frustrated – whatever you want.
“We shot the ball over the goal even when it was empty.
“We created five or six outstanding, big chances. Usually we score with one of them.
“I didn’t see one more chance for Newcastle.”
Klopp also went on to claim that Liverpool deserved a penalty in the second half as Dejan Lovren appeared to have his shirt pulled from a corner.
“They got one chance and scored. That doesn’t feel too fair,” he added.
“We had a clear penalty. I don’t know what he has to do – pull the shirt off him?
“If you don’t help yourself no one else will help you. It will be like this until we score.
“If we play like this it makes sense that we play like this, usually we score in situations like this. We have to accept this and carry on.”
