Liverpool have sought inspiration from the 1990s for their new 2017/18 away kit.
A commemorative crest marks the Reds’ 125th anniversary, with the home strip for the forthcoming season going on sale before the final day win over Middlesbrough.
Keeping to the theme of yesteryear, the kit that the likes of Philippe Coutinho and Sadio Mane will be wearing on their travels has finally been revealed.
Kit makers New Balance drew on Liverpool’s change strip from the 1995/96 season, which the club wore during an FA Cup final defeat to Manchester United.
As well as a throwback to 21 years ago, it also shows recognition of the Anfield club’s original kit in 1892, which began with a similar quartered pattern.
The strip features white and green quarters, along with black shorts and white socks while the goalkeepers outfit will be sporting a more plain and darker kit.
Fans will be able to get their hands on the new kit at the club’s online store and official outlets in Anfield, Williamson Square and Liverpool One from Saturday.
James Milner said: “This kit looks classic – up to date, but with a nod to the past.
“It will be a reminder of the foundations this great club is built on every time we wear it.
“The whole team is really proud to be a part of this huge anniversary for the club, and we can’t wait to wear this kit next season.”
