Jurgen Klopp has refused to discount partnering Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi for Liverpool’s trip to Sunderland.
Origi was given a second half run-out during the 1-0 win over Manchester City on New Year’s Eve while Sturridge remained confined to the substitutes’ bench.
The pair have previously worked in tandem but are yet to strike up a partnership across a sustained spell of games for the Reds this season.
But Klopp remains coy on whether he will experiment with Sturridge and Origi in a two-man front line for his side’s visit to the Stadium of Light on Monday.
He said: “We played already with Daniel and Divock together so, of course, that’s an opportunity.
“But I don’t want to give David Moyes any information about our line-up.
“I should say that we will play exactly the same line-up as Manchester City!”
Liverpool are set to be without Philippe Coutinho and Joel Matip when they travel to Wearside as they continue to recover from their respective ankle injuries.
When asked whether the pair could feature, Klopp replied: “No.
“I don’t believe in miracles – nobody told me that they can do what you can do when you want to play a football game so no chance.”
