Marco Silva admits Richarlison’s balancing act for club and country is ‘not easy’.
The Everton forward revealed after last weekend’s defeat to Manchester City that his early-season form had suffered partly due to travelling on international duty.
Richarlison has become a regular fixture in Brazil’s squad was again called up by his country for September’s double-header of friendlies in the United States.
Between the Selecao’s clash with Colombia at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium and facing Peru at LA’s Coliseum, the 22-year-old clocked up over 12,266 miles.
Should he be also included in Tite’s side for their games with Senegal and Nigeria in Singapore next week, Richarlison faces a 13,646-mile round trip.
And Silva concedes that the lengthy distances the Copa America holders are routinely covering had a knock-on effect for the Blues’ £40 million signing.
“Richarlison is a player who demands a lot from himself,” said the Everton manager.
“It’s a good thing when you look for a player who wants always more and more. If you look in another way, he can put a lot of pressure sometimes on himself also.
“What’s he spoke about, it’s not easy. It’s tough competition here, even the two Carabao Cup games and he played in both.
“When it’s the international break, unfortunately for us, always the journeys are too long to play for Brazil. It’s not the best thing but it’s not just with him.
“It’s a tough period. Sometimes when he comes [back] in, he just had two days to prepare for the next game. Like you know, he’s an important player for us.
“What we want to see is Richarlison at his best level. But it’s something he felt and it’s a normal thing. We are used to working with him to see the best level of him again.”
He added: “I think it’s everything together because it’s not just the big travel.
“The last two games they played in America, always the jet-lag is completely different for a player coming here after eight days there.
“After three days, he played straight [away] in the game against Bournemouth and of course it was a tough game for him.
“The good thing is because we have a number of international players, some moments they suffer this type of fatigue but the season is really long and you have to manage each situation with them.
“What we want is to see all of them in the best level playing in the blue shirt.”
