Everton are set to make a decision on Theo Walcott’s future in the coming weeks.
Walcott moved to Goodison Park in a £20 million deal from Arsenal last January but has failed to impress despite being a regular under Marco Silva this season.
To date, the former England international has started 23 of the Blues’ 32 Premier League games this term and made a further eight substitute appearances.
His first-team prospects have rapidly diminished since February’s draw with Liverpool, playing just 16 minutes since that Merseyside derby stalemate.
The Goodison hierarchy are now set to decide whether to listen to offers for Walcott this summer amid doubts over his long-term suitability to the club.
Adding to the uncertainty surrounding the 30-year-old’s future is a contract understood to be worth £120,000 per week, which expires in summer 2021.
Everton’s director of football Marcel Brands revealed earlier this week that their future transfer strategy will be geared towards recruiting younger players.
Silva also admitted that he is hopeful of making Barcelona loanee Andre Gomes a permanent signing after impressing during his current spell on Merseyside.
