Sam Allardyce has torn into Everton’s decision to ask fans to rate his performance.
Season ticket holders were canvassed to assess Allardyce’s five-month tenure on a scale of zero to 10 in a survey sent out by the Blues earlier this week.
The question was part of an engagement strategy by Goodison Park officials to assess how supporters viewed their relationship with the club.
But Allardyce lamented the decision and claims that he received an apology from chairman Bill Kenwright.
He said: “I’m only answering this question once – in fact I’m not taking the question [about] the survey.
“The director of marketing and communications has clearly slipped up. Our department has not been asked what we think of the survey, even though it has been passed out before.
““From my point of view and the football side point of view it was a big mistake. I think it has allowed you to write some beautiful headlines.
“Our director of marketing does not have a great understanding of football and how football works because he is into marketing.
“He must have thought it was the right thing to do but clearly everyone else hasn’t and even the chairman I spoke to last night.”
