Everton’s main sponsor SportPesa have incurred backlash after labelling the club as a ‘hopeless place’.
The Kenya-based gaming firm’s latest gaffe came on the back of an official announcement that Sam Allardyce will become the next Blues manager.
Shortly after the news broke, SportPesa’s official Twitter account published a post about the former England boss’s arrival accompanied by a video of him dancing.
They wrote: “Sam Allardyce is set to become the new Everton manager! Talk about finding love in a hopeless place…”
The tweet was later deleted but not before numerous Everton supporters had reacted angrily to their club’s official shirt sponsor for posting it.

SportPesa publicly apologised in October after praising Arsenal’s 5-2 win at Goodison Park in what proved to be Ronald Koeman’s last game in charge.
Allardyce is set to take the reins at Everton following Wednesday’s visit of West Ham, which will be overseen by caretaker manager David Unsworth.
