Merseyside Police have released an e-fit image of a man suspected of the robbery of a teenager’s bike in Everton Park.
The 15-year-old victim was riding his bike home through the north Liverpool park at around 8.30pm on June 10 when a man obstructed his path and demanded that he get off the bike. The offender then rode off on the bike towards Heyworth Street, with the teenager left uninjured but extremely shaky by the incident.
Officers conducted a search of the area for the offender but to no avail. He is described as being ‘white Caucasian, in his early 20s, with pale skin and a bushy ginger beard.’ At the time, he was wearing black pants, a black hooded top, black trainers and was carrying a North Face rucksack.
The bike is a green and black Giant Stance with the words ‘Ready to Race’ on the pedals.
Detective Constable Julie Bolton from Liverpool CID appealed to locals of the area to come forward with any evidence they may have following the ‘frightening incident’.
She said: “This was a very frightening incident for this boy to experience. All he was doing was cycling home after meeting friends when this man appeared holding a knife.
“Police patrols searched the area but unfortunately the man had fled the scene. I am hoping they attracted the attention of someone living in the area or passing by at the time who may be able to cast their minds back a and tell us anything they remember.
“This man may have been loitering in the area beforehand or out of breath after cycling away. If anyone saw him we would like to hear from you. We are doing all we can to catch this offender so would appreciate any information that could help us.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Liverpool CID on 0151 777 4810 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
