Wavertree MP Luciana Berger, diagnosis is to announce that she is running for Labour Candidate for the first Metro Mayor of Liverpool City Region.
The shadow cabinet minister plans to move away from “traditional campaigns” and instrad intends to meet members in their own homes as she tours the Liverpool City Region.
Berger now joins Mayor of Liverpool Joe Anderson and Walton MP Steve Rotheram in the battle to win the nomination as Labour candidate.
She is due to make a formal announcement later today.
