Police storm club over “lockdown breach”

12 police officers from Merseyside Police stormed a city centre club after they were tipped off that an event was taking place during the Coronavirus lockdown.

The Hot Water Comedy club was actually streaming a performance from earlier in the month via their social media platforms and the club was indeed empty when police arrived.

Police were called by a member of the public that believed the stream was actually a live event and police acted quickly to shut to alleged event down.

Hot Water owner, Paul Blair, posted CCTV images of the incident to stating” Tonight we streamed a show we filmed back on 7th March”

“Someone thought it was live and grassed us up to the police, who sent 12 officers a van & a car to shut us down… (fair play to the police responding so fast)”.
