Man repeatedly stabbed in Bootle park

A man suffered multiple stab wounds during an attack in a Bootle park.

Police were called to North Park on Hornby Road at around 2.30pm on Sunday following reports that a 21-year-old had been assaulted.

Upon arrival they found a man who was bleeding from a number of wounds to his body, including his chest, abdomen, head, buttocks, legs, hands and arms.

The man is currently receiving medical treatment in hospital where his condition is described as serious but not life threatening.

An investigation is underway including house-to-house, witness and CCTV enquiries.

Detectives believe that the incident was a targeted attack are appealing for anyone with any information that may help the investigation to come forward.
