A pensioner’s body has been found in the toilets of a local McDonald’s restaurant.
Emergency services were called to the Kensington branch of the fast-food outlet at around 5.10pm on Tuesday to reports of the sudden death of a man on site.
Police and the North West Ambulance Service attended the premises on Beech Street where a man in his 70s was round to be unresponsive.
Sadly he was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
At this time Merseyside Police officers are treating the death as unexplained.
Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the death as well as formally identifying the man and informing his next of kin.
