A woman was punched to the floor outside a popular Liverpool nightclub.
Police were called to Heaven on Victoria Street at around 4.30am on Thursday, April 25 to reports that a 50-year-old had been hit in the face by a man.
The victim was knocked to the floor and treated in hospital for severe swelling and bruising to her face. She was left visibly shaken by the attack.
Merseyside Police have issued a CCTV image of a man they believe could assist the investigation.
Detective Inspector Judith Blease said: “This is particularly busy part of our city and at this time we’d imagine that lots of people would be leaving bars to head home for the night to get taxi and would have witnessed this assault.
“I’d ask anyone who was in this area and may have witnessed this incident to get in contact.
“A woman was left extremely shaken up by this incident and the person responsible needs to be brought to justice.
“We believe the man pictured could hold vital information about this assault and ask anyone who recognises him to come forward and tell us who he is.”
