Two people have been arrested after the death of an infant child in Walton.
Emergency services were called to Grosvenor Road at 6.15pm on Sunday. The four-month-old was taken to hospital but pronounced deceased a short time later.
A man and a woman, both aged 32, were arrested on suspicion of causing or allowing the death of a child and remain in custody at a local police station.
“We have arrested a man and a woman after a baby was found deceased at an address in Walton last night, Sunday 14 October,” read a Merseyside Police statement.

“At 6.15pm, a report was received of an unresponsive baby at an address in Grosvenor Road. The baby was taken to hospital and sadly pronounced deceased at around 7.05pm.
“A 32-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman from Walton were arrested on suspicion of causing/allowing the death of a child and taken to a police station for questioning.”
