A woman has lost her leg and continues to fight for her life after a road traffic accident in Wallasey.
The 30-year-old remains in a medically induced coma from surgery which lasted 28 hours following the accident in Seabank Road, Wallasey.
The mother of the woman confirmed that her daughter remains in Aintree Hospital and has not been conscious since the accident nine days ago.
Speaking to the press, the mother who does not wish to be named stated that her daughter has a number of life changing injuries including the amputation of her left leg and hip. She also stated that it may not be possible for the doctors to save her right leg.
The young woman was leaving her friends house and was about to get in to a taxi when the accident happened. The incident involved three cars.
A 36-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of drink and dangerous driving before she was taken in to custody for questioning.
It is understood that the victim became trapped between two of the park cars.
