A man has been charged with attempted murder after a doorman was stabbed in Liverpool city centre.
Police were called to Great Charlotte Street at around 11.30pm on Friday following reports of an altercation outside a bar in the area.
During the altercation a male member of door staff suffered an injury to his chest consistent with a bladed weapon being used. He was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
A 60 year-old man was detained nearby and arrested on suspicion of s18 wounding.
Detectives later charged Patrick Wilson from Vauxhall with both attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon.
He has been remanded into custody to appear at Liverpool Magistrates Court on Monday, September 3.
