Hospital worker arrested for attempted murder

A worker at Broadgreen Hospital has been arrested for attempted murder.

Police were contacted by hospital staff at around 7.25pm on July 22 in what was described as a ‘serious incident’

Detectives detained a 31-year-old man, who has since been released on conditional bail.

Broadgreen’s operators The Royal Liverpool & Broadgreen University Hospitals Trust confirmed that an investigation is underway into the incident.

A spokesperson said: “We are investigating a serious incident at Broadgreen Hospital. We reported the matter to Merseyside Police and are assisting them with their enquiries.

“We have taken appropriate action and there is currently no suggestion that patients or their loved ones should be concerned for their safety.”
