A man has been charged with a New Year’s Day murder in Anfield.
Police were called to a flat in Rocky Lane at around 2.10am on January 1 following reports of a man who had been assaulted.
The victim was taken to hospital and was pronounced deceased at around 11pm.
A Home Office post mortem confirmed the cause of death was a blunt force head injury.
Detectives have since charged Dominic Steven Jones with the man’s murder.
The 45-year-old from Tuebrook is due to appear at Liverpool Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
