Snow warnings in place across Merseyside

A yellow warning for snow and ice has been issued for Merseyside ahead of what is predicted to be the coldest night of the year.

A yellow warning for snow is to start at 3am on Friday morning and will stay in place until 3pm in the afternoon.

The yellow warning for ice will last from 2am on Friday morning until 9am.

The warning states that “some roads and railways will be affected leading to longer journey times by road, bus and train services. Some delays to air travel are also expected.”
