Detectives who have been investigating the murder of Sam Cook have today charged Carl Madigan with his murder.
The 21-year-old was stabbed during an incident at Empire nightclub whilst celebrating his birthday.
Merseyside Police had been searching for Speke native Madigan in relation to the murder and had released images of him on 16 November.
Madigan was arrested yesterday before today being charged with murder. He is being held in police custody and will appear before Liverpool magistrates court tomorrow.
A second man, Lewis Langfield, has been charged with section 47 assault in connection with the same incident. He is also due to appear before Liverpool magistrates court tomorrow.
