Merseyside Police has arrested a man on suspicion of murder after an incident in Huyton in the early hours of this morning, Wednesday 22 November.
At around 3am, Merseyside Police were contacted by hospital staff reporting concerns for a female patient in her 60s, who was brought into hospital around 1.30am following a suspected cardiac arrest at a house in Byrom Close. She was pronounced deceased around 8am.
Following enquiries, a 36-year-old man from Huyton was arrested on suspicion of murder and has been taken to a police station for questioning by detectives.
A Home Office post mortem will be carried out today to establish the cause of her death. Officers are currently in the area carrying out house-to-house enquiries.
