Officers searching Millwood Woods in Speke have recovered a shotgun and ammunition. The gun and ammunition have been recovered for forensic examination.
A 16 year-old male was also arrested on Eastern Avenue in Speke on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cannabis following a stop search by officers.
Inspector Andy Wignall said: “The recovery of this firearm means there is one less weapon on our streets to cause fear and intimidation.
“We are relentless in our pursuit of those who carry and store firearms and will respond to any information from the community about where guns and ammunition are being stored.”
