New images in search for Sam Cook murder witnesses

Merseyside Police detectives investigating the murder of Sam Cook are issuing CCTV stills of a group of witnesses they are seeking to trace.

At around 11.50pm on the night of the murder (Saturday 21 October), the five men and one woman pictured were in the area of Back Seel Street / Slaters Street.

Detective Inspector Richie Jones said: “We want to speak to these people as witnesses and I would like to make it clear that they are not suspected of having any involvement in the offence. I would encourage anyone pictured, or who knows who these people are, to contact us at the earliest opportunity.

“Each of these people may have vital information to assist our investigation and we are grateful to all those who have already come forward.”

Detectives are also issuing a further reminder to people with any images or video inside or near to the Empire Bar from Saturday, 21 October to send them to a dedicated email address for further investigation. The email address is: samcookmurder@merseyside.police.uk and anyone with photos or video can be assured that anything sent will be treated in confidence.
