Merseyside Police can confirm that officers from Knowsley’s dedicated Community Team have recovered drugs with an estimated street value of more than £250,000 following a warrant in Kirkby on Friday 27 October.
At around 9.10am, a warrant was carried out at a house in Benwick Road, leading to the seizure of around 25 large bags of cannabis bush, around 150 bars of cannabis resin, a kilo of white powder and drug equipment. Enquiries are ongoing to identify the persons responsible.
Knowsley Local Policing Inspector Paul Carroll said: “This excellent result shows that when communities provide information on drug supply, we will take positive action. These drugs would have been destined for the streets of Merseyside, bringing all the associated risks of violent crime to the community. No law-abiding person wants to live next door to a house like this and I would encourage anyone with information on this or any other home near to you to get in touch.
“Merseyside Police is committed to tackling the supply of drugs and we will continue to proactively tackle criminal gangs who think nothing of flooding the streets with dangerous drugs in order to profit from other people’s misery.”
Anyone with information on suspected drug supply in your community is asked to contact local officers, call 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111. You can also use their online form anonymously: https://crimestoppers-uk.org/give-information/give-information.
