Two charged following discovery of cannabis farm in Speke

Merseyside Police has arrested and charged two males after the discovery of a cannabis farm in Speke on Friday, 20 October.

At around 8.50am officers entered a building on South Parade and recovered  cannabis plants across various rooms inside the property.

Two males were arrested and charged on suspicion of production of cannabis.  20-year-old Hai Quang Le, and a 16-year-old  will appear before Magistrates Court today, Monday 23 October.

Inspector Andrew Wignall said:  “If you live close to a suspected cannabis farm, you are potentially in danger from the fires that they can cause, so report any of the signs and help us remove any such hazards from your community.

“Some of the signs to look out for that cannabis is being grown are; strange smells and sounds, or frequent and varied visitors to a property which are often at unusual times.  You might also see gardening equipment being taken into a property, such as plant pots, fertilizer, fans and industrial lighting. Often windows are sealed and covered or the curtains are permanently closed.  Heat from an adjoining property is also a sign, or birds gathering on a roof in cold weather.  Individually these activities may seem commonplace, however, together may indicate something more sinister.”
