Merseyside Police have confirmed that they were in attendance this morning at Liverpool John Lennon Aiport after an easyJet flight declared an emergency.
A report was received at 7.35am this morning of an unusual smell in the cockpit of a plane that was due to travel to Zante.
Emergency services attended as a precaution however the aircraft returned to Liverpool and landed safely at the airport without incident.
All passengers were removed safely from the aircraft and will continue their flight on a different aircraft.
