Police have launched a murder investigation after a man was stabbed to death in Garston.
Officers were called to Shrewsbury Road at 11.30pm on Saturday reports the man had been found in the street after suffering a stab wound to the chest.
The 36-year-old was taken to hospital in a critical condition where he subsequently passed away. A post mortem is due to take place on Sunday.
He has yet to be formally identified and his next of kin are in the process of being informed.
Detectives have arrested a 24 year-old woman on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody where she will be questioned.
An investigation is currently underway and house-to-house, CCTV and forensic enquiries are ongoing in the local area.
