Police are investigating after a body was found at a house in Toxteth.
Emergency services were called to a property on Madelaine Street on Tuesday afternoon where they discovered a person who was prounced dead at the scene.
A post mortem is due to take place to establish the cause of death but Merseyside Police are currently treating the death as unexplained.
Detectives have arrested a 68-year-old man from the local area on suspicion of murder. He has been taken to a police station where he will be questioned.
