A man has been hospitalised following an attack in Waterloo.
Emergency services were called to South Road at around 7pm on Wednesday to reports of a fight potentially involving up to four males.
Blood was found on the footpath outside the Boots pharmacy in the area but the men involved had left the scene before police had arrived.
Merseyside Police have confirmed that a 27-year-old man went to Fazakerley Hospital for treatment to a head injury which was consistent with an assault.
Chief Inspector Paul Sutcliffe said: “At this stage I must emphasise that it is unclear what happened and I can assure you that any information will be acted on to ensure that those involved are dealt with.”
