Detectives investigating the murder of Yusuf Sonko have made further arrests.
The 18-year-old was killed last Friday in Tagus Street, Toxteth from a single gunshot wound to the head in what police believe was a targeted attack.
A teenage boy, 17, remains in custody after also being questioned on suspicion of murder on Monday but a further two suspects have now been detained.
A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder while a 16-year-old boy is being detained on suspicion of wounding with intent prior to the killing.
The pair, both from the Liverpool 8 area, will be will be questioned by detectives.
Sonko was found behind shops close to Lodge Lane and was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
